last year, President Obama signed a one-year extension of PATRIOT Act provisions that did not include any additional civil liberties or privacy protections. In February 2011, the PATRIOT Act will once again be up for reauthorization. Now is the time to speak out against it.
Bill of Rights supporters are gathering in Washington on January 27, 2011, to bring our concerns about privacy and civil liberties to the halls of Congress.

The Richmond Youth Peace Project will present its sixth annual youth Educoncert, Generation Dream 2011, honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Two performances are scheduled this year. Generation Dream 2011 features youth performances from throughout metro Richmond, along with several adult professional artists. This uplifting 90-minute multi-cultural variety show is built around the themes of peace, nonviolence, and social justice.
Location: Richmond, Virginia
January 30th's performance is at VCU Singleton Performing Arts Center
February 4th's performance is at Richmond Public Library's Main Branch
Richmond Friends of Animals - vote against House Bill 1541 (or Senate Bill 1026 if you are writing to your Senator). This is a harmful bill that wouldsignificantly weaken current laws that were set up to protect animals from cruel treatment.
